Accepted Payment Methods

- Bank Transfers: Available for Professional and Expert subscriptions and for longer-term plans

Monthly Subscriptions & Recurring Billing
- Immediate Charge: Upon subscribing, your card is charged for the first month.
- Recurring Fee: A fixed monthly fee is automatically billed every month thereafter.
- Fee Changes: Rates may change, but we’ll notify you in advance.
- Activation: After payment, your API key is activated, and a confirmation email (with endpoints and usage guides) is sent.
Invoices and Transaction History
- Online Access: Your invoices and payment history can be found in the Payments section of your account settings.
- Invoice Info: If you need your business details on invoices, add them under Invoice Info in your personal account.
- Bank Transfers: Invoices will be emailed to you directly by our support team. For any questions, please open a help desk ticket.
Canceling Your Subscription
- Self-Service Cancellation: Click Unsubscribe next to your active plan in your account settings. Your subscription remains valid until the end of the current billing cycle.
- Manual Invoicing: If you pay via bank transfer/manual invoicing, please contact our help desk to cancel.
Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account anytime from the Privacy Center in your account settings.

Open Licenses

- For smaller or pay-as-you-go plans (such as One Call 3.0 pay-as-you-call, Startup, Developer)
- Generally suitable for small teams or non-commercial use.
- Important: consider “ShareAlike” requirement to ensure compliance with the license (see hyperlinks above for details). Alternatively, consider our business licenses below.
“OpenWeather for Business” License for Professional and Expert subscriptions.
- Allows the users to integrate our data into their commercial derivative product. This can be an app, website, analysis or anything else.
- “ShareAlike” requirement no longer applies

- Sublicensing and reselling of OpenWeather products is not allowed.

Additional Considerations for Online Subscriptions
Automatic Renewal
- Subscriptions renew each month (or year, if you select annual).
- You can cancel at any time; charges already applied for the current cycle are non-refundable.
Plan Changes
- Upgrades and downgrades are self-managed through your account.
- Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades usually start the next billing cycle.
Sales Tax & Other Fees
- Depending on your location, taxes may be added.
- You’re responsible for any additional fees charged by your bank or card issuer.
Refunds & Proration
- We typically do not offer partial refunds.
- If you downgrade, the lower rate starts from the next billing cycle.
Free Trials (If Offered)
- Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
- If you don’t cancel, the trial converts to a paid plan automatically.
Usage Limits & Overage Fees
- Each plan has specific usage limits. Overage fees may apply if you exceed those limits.
- We will notify you if you approach or exceed your plan’s threshold.
